Students are expected to:

1) Bring safety equipment to class.

2) Keep uniform neat, clean, and odor-free. DO NOT wash your sash/belt. Students are not allowed to wear any outfits other than the School Uniform, School T-shirts, or School Training pants. If you come unprepared for class, you will not be allowed to attend class.

3) Show respect to your instructor and fellow students in and out of class. Make sure you know the proper terms of respect:

Sifu for the Meng’s Martial Arts HQ Master Instructor, Master Benny Meng
Simo for the Meng’s Martial Arts Office Manager and wife of Master Meng, Sunmi P. Meng

Sihing or Sir for Huber School Assistant Instructors Mr. Tae Hayden, Mr. Jeff Ramsey, Mr. Mike Mathews, Mr. Jeremy Roadruck, Mr. Stephen Rudnicki, Mr. Ken Bole, Mr. Mike Davis, Mr. Darryl Holt, Mr. Michael Walling.

            Sihing for older male classmates, Sije for older female classmates (started before you)
            Sidai for younger male classmates, Simui for younger female classmates (started after you)

            Sibaak for your Sifu’s older training siblings, Sisuk for your Sifu’s younger training siblings

            When late for class do 30 pushups and then respectfully ask to join class when the instructor is free.

            When leaving early, inform the instructor before class.

4) Always be well mannered and behave properly; remind guests to do the same.

5) Show proper effort and spirit in the classroom.

6) Develop and maintain a positive, well-disciplined attitude.

7) Memorize and apply the School Creed.

8) Attend class on a regular and consistent schedule.

9) Practice and exercise at home for better results.

 

There are two required texts for all students:

1)      Textbook:            Mastering Kung Fu (adults and teens)

2)      Student Manual:            Meng’s School Manual (all students)

 

These texts contain information on martial arts history, philosophy, theory, concepts, principles and terminology. The bulk of all lectures come from these texts. The Student Manual contains all policies and practices of the school including testing procedures and etiquette.
